The meeting was held in the ‘Big’ room, 13 members and five visitors were present and welcome to them. The raffle raised £23 so thank you everyone for that and please continue to bring prizes for the future meetings as it helps us to pay for the room.

Ray had brought in two large trees from his allotment to be worked on a large Larch and a ‘Jacqueline Hillier’, Nona & Trish brought a Cotoneaster and a Potentilla, Sue a Larch and Allan a Yew and a Hemlock so there was plenty to work on and the everyone divided into groups, there are before and after photos below.

The next informal meeting is on Monday 22nd August so please bring along any trees you need to work on, we will have the meeting in the small room.

The next meeting on the programme is Tuesday the 13^th Sept and the guest speaker is John Armitage, the Theme for the talk is on ‘Shohin’ bonsai so this should be very interesting and will take place in the larger room. Non members and visitors are welcome: but please note there will be a small charge for this night to non members, any new guests who wish to join the club will only be charged £10 membership as we are now half way through the year (normal membership is £20 per yr)

The annual show and Bonsai exhibition is on Sunday the 25^th September at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield, this year we are unable to use the mini bus we have had in the past so I am looking at prices to hire one so we can go as a group which is cheaper.  The cheapest I have at the moment is £200 for a 24 seater if we can get 20 people this will be £10 per head at the moment we are 15 but I need to contact some members who have been on holiday so can you please let me know a.s.a.p. if you want to go as I need to book this and collect a deposit by the 13^th Sept at the very latest. We will meet at the community centre and drop off there at the end of the day.
